Embark on a transformative journey with APU University Malaysia Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Honours) with a specialism in Forex and Investments program. Explore a myriad of invaluable insights and skills, detailed below:
In the first year, students will develop fundamental skills essential for accounting and finance professionals. They will gain a basic understanding of the legal, business, and social environment in which accounting operates. Through hands-on training with accounting software, including the renowned enterprise resource planning software SAP, students will familiarize themselves with business processes. This level focuses on building a strong foundation in accounting and finance.
Moving into the second year, expands students' knowledge in traditional areas of Accounting and Finance. They will gain a deeper understanding of subjects such as Management Accounting, Taxation, Financial Management, Advanced Corporate Reporting, and Forensic Accounting. Additionally, students will cultivate technology savviness, a crucial soft skill for independent learning, workplace readiness, and future research. Modules like Emerging Technologies for Accounting and Finance and Data Analytics in Accounting and Finance will expose them to the latest advancements in the field.
During the 16-week internship or industrial training, students will undertake a minimum 16-week internship or industrial training. This internship experience is designed to facilitate a smooth transition from the classroom to the working environment. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge, gain practical skills, and familiarize themselves with real-world scenarios in accounting and finance.
In the third year, students will utilize their previous studies and industrial experience to delve into the practical aspects of trading techniques in investment. The aim is to groom students as leaders in this field of study. They will expand their knowledge of the investment world by learning how to effectively manage risks associated with investments. In addition, capstone modules like Reflective Practice in Accounting & Finance will further enhance problem-solving skills. Students will also explore the impact of decisions and activities on the environment, society, and governance (ESG) through dedicated modules. The final year project will provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their abilities in their chosen area of study.
Students who joined the Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Honours) with a specialism in Forex and Investments at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year. • 2 Passes in STPM with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) and a Credit in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM Level or its equivalent.
