In the first year, students will acquire fundamental skills required for a career in business management. They will develop a basic understanding of various subjects, including management, law, accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, marketing, people management, and accounting. Additionally, students will be exposed to business and communication skills, computing and IT skills, quantitative skills, and independent learning. The common first year ensures that students receive a solid foundation in business management theories and practices, laying the groundwork for their future studies.
Moving into the second year, expands on the foundational knowledge gained in the first year and offers a broader range of skills. Students will develop a better understanding of functional management and international business management. They will study subjects such as international culture and communications, operations management, and employee development. Through the use of industry-leading software supported by SAP, students will further enhance their understanding of core business processes. Independent learning will continue to be nurtured, preparing students for the workplace and potential future research endeavors.
During the 16-week internship or industrial training, students will embark on a minimum 16-week internship or industrial training. This internship provides practical exposure to the working environment, facilitating a smooth transition from the classroom to the professional world. Students will gain hands-on experience, apply their knowledge, and develop valuable skills relevant to their field of study.
In the third year, students will build upon their previous studies and industrial experience to tackle more practical and modern issues in business management. They will focus on managing enterprise performance and problem-solving within an international context. The curriculum aims to groom students as international business leaders, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge. A final-year project will require students to explore a specific topic individually, allowing them to demonstrate their academic and practical abilities in their chosen area of study.
Students who joined the Bachelor (Hons) in International Business Management at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year. • 2 Passes in STPM with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) and a Pass in English and Mathematics at SPM Level or its equivalent
