Embark on a transformative journey with APU University Malaysia Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with Honours program. Explore a myriad of invaluable insights and skills, detailed below:
In the first year of the Engineering program, students will acquire a solid understanding of basic engineering principles, including Circuit Analysis, Engineering Materials, and Engineering Design. They will also develop essential academic skills and gain knowledge in IT and entrepreneurship. This year focuses on laying the foundation for effective project management, independent learning, and meeting the demands of employers.
Moving into the second year, students will specialize in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. They will delve into modules such as Analogue Electronics, Digital Electronics, Electromagnetic Field Theory, Engineering Software & Applications, and Signals and Linear Systems. The emphasis is on developing the necessary knowledge and skills in these areas, supported by Engineering Mathematics to enhance understanding. Students will continue to build a strong technical foundation in preparation for more advanced coursework.
In the third year, students will focus on specialized knowledge and skills in areas such as Control Engineering, Machine Vision & Intelligence, Communication Engineering Principles, Microprocessor Systems & Embedded Software, Digital Signal Processing, Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electrical Power, and Power Electronics & Drives. The curriculum emphasizes the application of engineering skills, critical thinking, and analysis. Independent learning remains an integral part of the learning process.
During the 16-week internship or industrial training, This internship experience is designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the professional working environment. Students will gain hands-on experience, develop industry-specific skills, and acquire valuable insights into real-world engineering practices.
The final year of the program is dedicated to enhancing students' industry application and technological skills, preparing them for employment upon graduation. Students will undergo personal and professional development, honing their technical capabilities and understanding of innovation and idea generation. They will undertake several Engineering Projects, showcasing higher-level critical thinking, analysis, and solution development skills, further enhancing their employability in the field.
Students who joined the Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with Honours at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year.
