Embark on a transformative journey with APU University Malaysia Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering With Honours program. Explore a myriad of invaluable insights and skills, detailed below:
In the first year of the Mechanical Engineering program, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and acquire essential skills for their future pursuits. It includes modules in Instrumentation and Measurement, Engineering Design, Engineering Materials and Manufacturing Technology. Additionally, the curriculum covers academic skills, IT, entrepreneurship, and independent learning to ensure students are well-rounded and prepared for their future endeavors.
Moving into the second, students begin to specialize in modules that focus on developing the foundational knowledge and skills specific to Mechanical Engineering. These specialized modules include subjects such as Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Safety in Oil and Gas Engineering, Formation Evaluation and Well Logging, and Petroleum Geochemistry. These modules delve deeper into the core concepts and principles of Mechanical Engineering, equipping students with the specialized knowledge and skills required for their future careers in the field.
In the third year, students will focus on specialized knowledge and skills in areas such as Control Engineering, Venture Building, Mechanics of Machine, Machine Design, Industrial Automation, Microprocessor Systems & Embedded Software, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, and Computer Aided Engineering. Elective modules, including Machine Vision and Intelligence, Gas Engineering, and Enhanced Oil Recovery, provide further opportunities for skill development and critical thinking. Independent learning is emphasized throughout all modules.
The 16-week internship or industrial training, Students will engage in a minimum 16-week Internship/Industrial Training to bridge the gap between the classroom and the working environment, preparing them for their future careers.
The final year of the program ,students will develop industry-specific skills and enhance their personal and professional growth. Through Engineering Projects, they will demonstrate advanced critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving abilities, increasing their employability upon graduation.
Students in the Bachelor's Degree Programme have the option to participate in the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme, which grants them two degree certificates and transcripts upon graduation: one from Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia and one from De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK.
