What you will learn in a glance?

In the first year, students will acquire fundamental skills necessary for technical multimedia professionals. They will develop a basic understanding of programming and system design, along with specialized modules focusing on multimedia techniques such as 3D graphics and digital image processing. The modules will not only impart technical knowledge but also foster personal and organizational skills, creativity, and innovation. Additionally, students will be introduced to the exciting realm of virtual reality and augmented reality, exploring their role in delivering multimedia content.

Moving into the second year, expands the students' skill set, providing a broader range of knowledge in multimedia applications. They will gain a deeper understanding of animation, audio, and visual components, frameworks, guidelines, and techniques. This level emphasizes nurturing creativity, innovation, and independent learning to prepare students for the workplace. Moreover, the importance of copyright in the digital content landscape will be highlighted, equipping students with a crucial understanding of intellectual property rights.

During the 16-week internship or industrial training, students will engage in practical training to facilitate a seamless transition from the classroom to the professional working environment. This immersive experience will allow them to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world scenarios, gaining valuable hands-on experience. The internship will enhance their practical understanding, expand their professional networks, and equip them with essential workplace skills.

In the third year, students will leverage their previous studies and industrial experience to further develop their familiarity with multimedia technology and refine their personal and professional growth. They will delve deeper into media scripting technology and advanced multimedia development and techniques. Additionally, students will explore user experience and human-computer interaction, analyzing user perceptions and feedback considering socio-economic factors, cultures, and regional considerations. The final year project will require students to investigate and develop a solution for a real-world problem, showcasing their ability to combine technical knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills to create a comprehensive personal achievement portfolio.

Dual Degrees from APU and DMU United Kindom

Students who joined Bachelor(Hons) in Multimedia Technology at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year.
