The Business with Information Technology program offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers foundational skills in mathematics, language, communication, and information technology. Here's an overview of what you will learn:
Semester 1 focuses on acquiring basic mathematical, language, communication, and information technology skills. Students gain an understanding of fundamental concepts and terminology related to technology and business management.
Semester 2 builds on the foundation knowledge from the first semester, advancing language and communication skills to more advanced levels of research and professionalism. Quantitative skills for problem-solving and familiarity with technology are further developed.
Semester 3 expands students' understanding of general business concepts and procedures, with a focus on marketing and economics. They also enhance their technology skills in database systems and computer programming to solve problems and make decisions using computing tools.
Semester 4 continues to build on business concepts and procedures, delving into statistical analysis, accounting, and the legal environment. Students are exposed to internet applications design and development, as well as the system development cycle.
Semester 5 explores more advanced areas of business management, including organizational capabilities and resources, service quality and sustainability, and management of IT resources. Graduates demonstrate cognitive and intellectual skills as they apply business, management, and information technology techniques to solve real-world problems.
Semester 6 involves an internship or industrial training of at least 8 weeks, providing students with practical experience and preparing them for a seamless transition from the classroom to the working environment.
Upon successful completion of this programme and fulfillment of requirements for credit transfer, you will be eligible to progress into Level 2 of the following degree programmes offered at APU
Students who joined the Diploma in Business with Information Technology at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year. • 3 Credits in at least 3 subjects at SPM level including Mathematics, with a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History)
