The Master of Arts in Design Innovation Management program is focused on equipping students with the skills to lead design-driven innovation within organizations. Core courses cover design thinking, innovation management, and strategic design, while delving into topics like user-centered design and design leadership. Through experiential learning opportunities, students gain practical experience in applying these principles. Graduates emerge prepared to drive innovation and create value across various industries and sectors.
Students who joined the Master of Arts in Design Innovation Management program at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates and transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year. • Bachelor’s degree in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, or its equivalent qualification as accepted by the Senate.
• Bachelor’s degree in related fields with a CGPA of less than 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant fields.
• Pass an interview or submission of portfolio determined by the Senate as required.
The programme comprises of 9 coursework modules (including Research Methodology module) and a project named Creative Futures Project. There will be a combination of management context and design context in the modules. Throughout the semester you will be expose to:
