The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours) program at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) focuses on investigating the organ systems of the human body at the molecular, cellular, and systemic levels, which is crucial for understanding and addressing human diseases. The rapidly evolving multidisciplinary nature of biomedical science requires students to develop a comprehensive understanding of essential fields, including medical biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, cell and molecular biology, anatomy, physiology, infectious diseases, and neuroscience.
This program aims to produce professionals who possess strong scientific and experimental skills necessary for advancing research and development in the biomedical sciences and health services. In addition to academic excellence, the curriculum emphasizes the incorporation of Islamic values in the conduct and practice of biomedical science. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, graduates from IIUM are equipped to make meaningful contributions to the biomedical field and enhance healthcare outcomes.
