The Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) program at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) focuses on diagnostic and interventional procedures, health surveillance screening, and research in medical imaging. Diagnostic radiographers play a crucial role in providing safe, rapid, and accurate diagnostic imaging examinations across various clinical situations, utilizing a range of imaging modalities and techniques.
This program emphasizes the importance of contributing to patient management while ensuring the physical and psychological well-being of patients in their care. The field of medical imaging includes several sub-specialties, such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound (including Doppler imaging), nuclear medicine, and interventional practice.
IIUM's program aims to support national aspirations for quality healthcare by producing professionally competent medical imaging practitioners who embody the highest Islamic values in their conduct and practice. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, students are prepared to excel in this vital healthcare field.
