The Master of Comparative Laws (By Research) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is a research‑driven programme that cultivates deep, systematic understanding of multiple legal traditions, including Islamic (Shariah), common law and civil law. Emphasising rigorous comparative methodology and independent scholarship, the programme enables candidates to undertake original research on cross‑jurisdictional legal issues, doctrinal interaction and law reform. Supervised thesis work is supported by specialised seminars and research guidance, preparing graduates for roles in academia, legal practice, policy development and international organisations where advanced comparative legal expertise is required.
