The Master of Education in Teaching of Arabic to Non‑Arabic Speakers (By Coursework) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is a professionally oriented programme that prepares educators to teach Arabic effectively to diverse, non‑native learner populations. Combining advanced coursework with practical teaching training, the programme develops subject‑matter expertise in Arabic language pedagogy, curriculum and materials design, needs analysis, assessment, and classroom management. Emphasis is placed on contemporary methodologies—including communicative, task‑based and technology‑enhanced approaches—together with culturally responsive and learner‑centred practices.
Graduates will be equipped to design and deliver specialised Arabic programmes for schools, universities, language centres and professional settings, to lead curriculum development and teacher training, and to pursue further research in applied linguistics and Arabic language education. The programme fosters professional competence, reflective practice and the capacity to adapt teaching strategies to varied linguistic and cultural contexts.
• A relevant Bachelor’s degree (honors) with a minimum CGPA of
2.50 from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) or any other accredited institution of higher learning.
