The Master of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage in Usul al-Din and Comparative Religion (By Research) at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is designed to cultivate graduates with a profound understanding of Islamic beliefs and ethical systems. Through this program, graduates are equipped to promote a proper understanding of the Islamic worldview and contribute to global peace and harmony.
The program aims to develop mastery of scholarly contributions and theories in Usul al-Din and comparative religion. It seeks to instill the principle of wasatiyyah (proper balance) as an essential mode for Islamic discourse and inter-religious dialogue.
Additionally, the curriculum provides perspectives for addressing inter-religious issues related to extremism, deviant teachings, human rights, and conflicts within and between religions. Students will strengthen their competence in applying Usul al-Din principles to explore philosophy, civilizations, ideologies, and other religions, preparing them for impactful roles in promoting understanding and dialogue in diverse contexts.
