The Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine (Clinical Specialist Training) at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is a structured clinical specialist programme that equips physicians with the knowledge, skills and professional competencies required to become holistic internal medicine specialists. Training is delivered across a broad range of medical subspecialties over a minimum period of four years (with an allowable maximum of seven years), during which trainees work at designated clinical posts under appropriate supervision. As trainees progress, they assume increasing responsibility for patient care with a corresponding reduction in direct supervision. Continuous formative and summative assessments are conducted throughout the programme to monitor performance and ensure readiness for independent specialist practice.
