The Master of Surgery in Ophthalmology (Clinical Specialist Training) at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) develops skilled and compassionate ophthalmologists through a comprehensive programme that balances advanced clinical training, surgical proficiency and professional formation. Trainees are taught state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic and operative techniques while being guided to practise with high ethical standards and to apply Islamic values in patient care.
The programme aims to produce well‑rounded specialists who excel in clinical service, research and education. With a vision to be a centre of excellence in ophthalmology training, research and service, the programme is committed to raising the standard of eye health care across the region and preparing graduates to lead improvements in clinical practice and community eye health.
• A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree or equivalent from a university and is registrable under the Medical Act 1971 (Act No. 50) of Malaysia.
