The Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) is a four-year undergraduate program. With the growing volume of medicines available, pharmacists play a crucial role alongside doctors in enhancing therapeutic outcomes and patient care. Their involvement in healthcare teams leads to improved patient outcomes and reduced costs. Pharmacy graduates are highly sought after in the pharmaceutical industry, both in Malaysia and internationally, for roles in clinical research, formulation development, production, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and marketing. The IMU Pharmacy program offers the flexibility to complete the entire four-year curriculum locally or through credit transfer to the University of Otago in New Zealand or the University of Tasmania in Australia. Pharmacists significantly impact patient well-being through their expertise in medication management and patient counseling. Beyond traditional roles, graduates can pursue careers in community or hospital pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, research and development, regulatory affairs, or academia. The curriculum is aligned with international standards and adheres to the requirements of the Pharmacy Board Malaysia and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. By employing a diverse range of teaching methods, experiential learning, and industry collaboration, the program effectively empowers students for successful careers in healthcare.
