MAHSA University Malaysia ?

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) program through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) at MAHSA University is a four-year undergraduate degree designed to prepare students for a career in healthcare. Physiotherapy focuses on enhancing movement and functional ability, thereby maximizing quality of life through promotion, prevention, and treatment in the rehabilitation of patients with neurological, cardiorespiratory, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Students will engage deeply in the study of applied and functional anatomy, physiology, pathology, physiotherapy rehabilitation science, research methodology, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based clinical practice. They will develop essential skills in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription, and electrotherapy, all crucial components of physiotherapy management. Throughout the program, students are required to complete a minimum of 1,200 hours of clinical practice.

Teaching methods include lectures and tutorial sessions conducted on an e-learning platform. Self-instructional materials will be uploaded to the online forum before lectures or tutorials. Integrative teaching approaches, including discussions and seminars, will also take place on this platform, with lecturers facilitating learning through case scenarios. Practical sessions will be conducted face-to-face, allowing for the demonstration of hands-on skills. Diploma graduates are eligible for credit transfer, with a maximum of 30% of the graduating credits being allowed through module mapping.
