Dental Surgery Assistants are essential, valued members of the dental healthcare team, playing a crucial role in supporting both dentists and patients. A career as a dental surgery assistant can be exciting, challenging, and highly rewarding.

The three-year Diploma in Dental Surgery Assistant program offers a well-rounded curriculum that includes both theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience. The courses cover a blend of basic sciences, dental sciences, behavioral sciences, ethics, and humanities, with a strong emphasis on communication, clinical practices in various specialties, and comprehensive management.

MAHSA also offers a part-time option, extending the training period to six years.

Upon completing the program, students will be equipped to perform safe dental practices in various assisting tasks, ranging from basic dental procedures to specialized areas, including taking intraoral radiographs and providing dental health education to communities.

Entry Requirements  

STPM

• Fresh Candidates: SPM / ‘O’ Level or its equivalent with 5 Credits: Mathematic (Elementary/Modern/ Additional) and any one Science subjects: General Science/Applied Science or Biology or Chemistry or Physics and 3 other subjects (Malaysian Candidates)
