The Doctor in Restorative Dentistry (DrResDent) is a three-year clinical coursework program designed to effectively integrate knowledge from the fields of prosthodontics, endodontics, and periodontics through interactive learning sessions and clinical training. This approach equips students to provide holistic treatment to patients, utilizing the comprehensive knowledge acquired during the program.

Candidates will develop an original research project by conducting independent research, which will be formally documented in a thesis or prepared as a manuscript for submission or publication.

To qualify for this program, students must have completed a one-year Master's degree in Orofacial Sciences, with a compulsory elective in Restorative Dentistry, or hold an equivalent qualification. This combination of a one-year Master’s program followed by a three-year Doctorate constitutes a specialist training pathway that enables graduates to register as specialists in Restorative Dentistry under the Malaysian Dental Act of 2018.
