The Master of Orofacial Sciences program serves as a bridge between the Doctor of Dental Surgery and the three-year Doctorate program. This one-year program is a prerequisite for entering the Doctorate program. Completing both the one-year Master’s and the three-year Doctorate is necessary for graduates to be registered as dental specialists in their chosen field under the Malaysian Dental Act 2018.
This Master's program offers local private practitioners and prospective dental lecturers the opportunity to enhance their skills in areas of personal interest. The curriculum includes four core modules: Applied Medical and Dental Sciences, Research Methodology, Research Project, and Community Dental Practice. The fifth module allows candidates to specialize in one of the following disciplines: Restorative Dentistry, Periodontology, or Orthodontics.
The research project will involve a minor study focused on the collection of clinical data for clinical audit outcomes, preliminary field studies, or introductory laboratory investigations. Research outputs may take the form of mini-dissertations or scientific reports.
For other qualifications and certificates (e.g., Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree , etc..) please contact our educational consultants or submit your application for Admission assessment.
