Would you like to apply to
Nottingham University Malaysia ?

Our academic staff are actively engaged in cutting-edge, policy-relevant, and curiosity-driven research across a wide range of topics in international development, international relations, and politics. Our research and teaching efforts are enriched by resources from our partner schools in the UK and the Division of International Studies at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.

We host our own seminars where academics and practitioners share their research findings and professional experiences. Additionally, the school’s student society, PHIR-NOTT, complements these formal activities with its own round-table discussions, guest speaker series, and other events.

International development is a multidisciplinary field that examines how communities and states achieve the economic, socio-political, and other characteristics associated with development.

This program offers you the opportunity to develop a comprehensive multidisciplinary understanding of international development while exploring the prospects for development in a globalizing world. It addresses the reasons behind the persistence of global poverty and inequality, as well as how current development paradigms contribute to poverty reduction and human development. The course investigates how to apply development theory to enhance practice at the grassroots level and to identify, design, and implement effective interventions to improve development outcomes. It equips you with the practical skills necessary for employment in the development sector, including the design, implementation, and management of development projects.

Entry Requirements

  • An upper second class honours degree (or international equivalent) in science, engineering or geography and environment-related subjects. Non-UK qualifications will be assessed against this standard.
  • If deemed necessary, applicants may also be required to attend an interview.

For other qualifications and certificates please contact our educational consultants or submit your application for Admission assessment.
