Over the past two decades, psychology has emerged as one of the most popular degree fields worldwide. It is a captivating subject that helps us understand the workings of our minds, brains, relationships, and societies. At UNM, we provide high-quality doctoral training for postgraduate students interested in pursuing an MPhil or PhD. As a research student, you will collaborate with two members of our academic staff and join one of our seven research groups.

Given the diverse nature of research within the school, there are numerous opportunities for MPhil and PhD projects. Postgraduate training at the School of Psychology is designed to equip you with essential research skills, as well as communication, information technology, personal development, and employment-related skills. This training can be customized to suit your individual needs.

Entry Requirements  

• A master’s degree or a master of philosophy degree, plus at least an upper second class honours degree (or international equivalent) in psychology or a related discipline. Non-UK qualifications will be assessed against this standard.
• If deemed necessary, applicants may also be required to attend an interview.
