The Master of Science in Computer Science program is designed to equip students with the skills needed to conduct research in both current and emerging fields within the Information Technology industry. Our aim is to broaden students' intellectual horizons by fostering advanced knowledge in specialized technical areas, enabling them to lead future innovations in both industry and academia.

Students will join our research groups at Sunway University, with ample opportunities to collaborate with experienced supervisors through seminars, workshops, laboratory experiments, and fieldwork.

Graduates of the Master of Science in Computer Science will have a strong foundation in both the theory and practice of ICT and Computer Science. They will develop analytical and problem-solving skills, preparing them for senior consultant roles or managerial positions in their field.

Upon successfully completing the program, graduates will be awarded a degree from Lancaster University, along with two certificates, marking them as graduates of both Sunway University and Lancaster University.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.00

Research Methodology

Students will have an opportunity to examine research designs with methodology as well as data analysis techniques employed by researchers. At the end of this module, candidates will be expected to formulate and submit a proposal for research in an area of their own interest or specialisation.

Directed Readings

This module will provide students with comprehensive reading lists and resources to help them develop their hypothesis or areas of interest. Library skills and training on how to manage information and resources will also be introduced in this module.

Thesis

The MSc is awarded based on the successful completion of a thesis. The thesis should demonstrate proficiency, criticality and mastery in the subject or chosen area of research.
