The Bachelor of Construction Management and Economics (Honours) at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) is designed to provide a solid academic foundation in construction management, construction economics, and property development essential for the construction industry. 

This program focuses on the planning, coordination, and control of construction projects from inception to completion. It covers managing financial aspects, production of design, tendering, and contract management. Students learn about procurement systems, contractual arrangements, and tendering methods that meet client needs in terms of time, cost, quality, and legal compliance.

The curriculum includes exposure to International Construction, Value Management, Project Management, Risk Management, and practical applications of project planning software. As the construction industry embraces the digital transformation of Industrial Revolution 4.0, the faculty collaborates with industry partners to equip students with essential skills in Building Information Modelling (BIM). This comprehensive approach prepares graduates for successful careers in the evolving construction landscape.

Entry Requirements

STPM  

Grade C in 2 relevant subjects listed in Schedule A AND SPM Credit.

Future Careers

Upon completing the program, graduates are qualified for executive and managerial positions, overseeing real property development projects from inception to post-construction phases within construction and property development firms.
