The Diploma in Building at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) is designed to provide a strong academic foundation in construction management and property development, essential for the construction industry. This program focuses on the planning, coordination, and control of construction projects from inception to completion, as well as managing design, tender, and contract production.
Students will gain expertise in building construction technology, measurement, cost estimating, and general principles of building contracts and legal aspects related to the construction industry. As the sector undergoes digital transformation in line with Industrial Revolution 4.0, the faculty collaborates with industry partners to equip students with fundamental skills in Building Information Modelling (BIM). This diploma serves as an effective pathway for students to advance to a bachelor's degree in construction management.
