The Doctor of Philosophy in Finance by Research Mode at Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) is tailored for individuals holding relevant Master's degrees who wish to advance their research in finance.

This program aims to produce graduates with in-depth knowledge in their research area, along with practical and analytical skills for effective problem-solving and solution development. Students will also develop statistical skills for evaluating and interpreting results, as well as mastering essential communication and soft skills.

Over a duration of three years for full-time or four years for part-time study, candidates are required to complete two taught courses: Research Methodology and Advanced Data Analysis for Economics and Business Research. Upon completion, candidates must submit a doctoral thesis and successfully pass a viva voce to be conferred their PhD degrees.

Entry Requirements

• A master's degree in Finance, Banking Insurance or a related field as accepted by the HEP Senate.
