The Foundation in Science curriculum is especially intended to provide students with a solid foundation and abilities appropriate for a rapidly changing world of science and medicine. This curriculum offers students hands-on instruction, allowing them to develop the necessary abilities in a variety of scientific subjects. Students will also obtain a solid scientific foundation, fundamental understanding in applied science and medicine, and improved communication and interpersonal skills, all of which are useful in meeting the demands of businesses. Students will be taught science process skills to help them make critical and analytical judgments in the classroom and lab.

Entry Requirement

• O-Level

Pass O-Level with at least grade B in 3 subjects including mathematics and 2 other science subjects.

The Foundation in Science (FIS) programme provides the necessary preparation for admission into undergraduate programmes in UGM and other Universities. Those who successfully complete this programme can go on to pursue the following courses at UGM:

• BSc (Hons) Biotechnology (3.5 Years)
• BSc (Hons) Pharmacology (3.5 Years)
• BSc (Hons) Computer Science (3 Years)
• BSc (Hons) Geomatic & Land Surveying (4 Years)
• BSc (Hons) Geographic Information System & Application Development (3.5 Years)

FIS students will be given a conditional offer into one of UGM’s undergraduate programme, subject to meeting the entry requirements.

Moreover, we have a MOU with the Kursk State Medical University (KSMU), Russia. Thus, our FIS students can also choose to pursue their MBBS degree KSMU or any other recognized local/ international tertiary institutions.
