The Bachelor of Electrical Engineering program at Universiti Malaya (UM) focuses on the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. This program encompasses a wide range of subfields, including electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, and signal processing.

Students are exposed to both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of electrical engineering. The curriculum is structured around core courses that provide a solid grounding in classical electrical engineering principles, complemented by elective courses that allow for specialization in areas of interest.

Emphasis is placed on the application of engineering knowledge, preparing graduates to tackle real-world challenges. Electrical engineers play a crucial role in advancing technologies such as virtual reality and enhancing power distribution networks, particularly in rural areas of developing countries. This program equips students with the skills and expertise needed to contribute significantly to the evolving field of electrical engineering.

Entry Requirements

 - National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above.
