The Bachelor of Biomedical Science program at Universiti Malaya (UM) provides comprehensive knowledge and training in medical science, emphasizing healthcare and research Students enroll in the program for a minimum of four years, with a structured curriculum designed to build a strong foundation in biomedical disciplines

In the first year, students are introduced to the basics of medical sciences, gaining fundamental knowledge about human body structure, functions, and mechanisms By the second year, they delve deeper into specific biomedical fields such as Histopathology, Haematology, Chemical Pathology, and Infectious Diseases, while also understanding the impact of diseases and pathology

Practical sessions will help students develop confidence and skills in laboratory medicine, and an Industrial Training attachment in the third year will provide valuable exposure to real-world biomedical services Returning for their final year, students will undertake their most significant milestone: conducting independent research projects in their chosen area of interest, solidifying their expertise and preparing them for careers in biomedical science.
