The Bachelor of Arts in Southeast Asian Studies program at Universiti Malaya (UM) is designed to foster teaching and learning about the Southeast Asian region, focusing on its politics, economy, culture, and security.
The program employs a multi-disciplinary approach, encouraging students to consider various issues and applications related to the region. In the initial stages, students are required to take two departmental core subjects, which include Southeast Asian languages. In their final year, students must complete a research paper component, allowing them to engage deeply with a specific topic of interest within Southeast Asian studies.
- National Higher School Certificate (or an Advanced Level equivalent) with the grade 80% and above.
