Semester 1
Principles of Management
This module covers four basic pillars of management – planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring. Topics include managerial functions, motivation of employees, the decision-making process, accountability, authority, personnel management, and the importance of effective communication to managers.
Principles of Marketing
This module explores marketing concepts, processes, strategies, environmental influences, consumer buying behaviors, international marketing, and product and promotion strategies, focusing on consumer and business buying behaviors.
Microeconomics
This module teaches students about the basic concepts, theories, and applications of microeconomics, emphasizing human decision-making, market equilibrium, consumer behavior, production theory, production costs, and different market structures.
Accounting
This module introduces students to accounting concepts like equations, double entry systems, ledgers, assets, liabilities, capital, trading, profit/loss accounts, balance sheets, stock evaluation, bank reconciliation, and control accounts.
Programme Technique for Fintech
This module contains introduction topics to programming using the C/C++language. It includes an introduction to computers and programming as well as the basics of programming, problem solving and software development.
Semester 2
Financial Management
This module covers financial environment, interest rate fundamentals, risk and return, time value of money, corporate securities, valuations, financial statement analysis, and capital budgeting concepts.
Business Mathematics
This module teaches business mathematics concepts and theories, covering real-life applications like interest, trade, cash discounts, markup, instalment purchases, and depreciation, providing a foundation for decision-making in business endeavors.
Macroeconomics
This module introduces students to basic economics concepts, including macroeconomics, national income accounting, consumption theory, monetary policy, and international trade, covering topics like inflation and unemployment.
Essentials of Fintech
This module explores Fintech's evolution from electronic banking to advanced solutions, aiming to enhance understanding for students specializing in FinTech areas
Crowdfunding and Alternative Ending
This module is designed to introduce students to the foundation and knowledge of crowdfunding and alternative lending by providing the principles of crowdfunding market, models, platforms, and projects. In addition, students are also exposed to the central role of crowdfunding and its impact on development.
Effective Communication - Workplace and Persuasive Presentation
The module focuses on workplace communication skills and persuasive presentations, emphasizing the importance of strategic, carefully chosen words, and respect. It explores interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, persuasion strategies, and feedback guidelines. Assessment involves role-plays, oral presentations, and written reports.
Semester 3
Integrity and Anti-Corruption
This module explores corruption, its value, anti-corruption, forms, abuse of power, and prevention methods. It uses experiential learning and case studies to teach students about integrity, anti-corruption, power abuse, and societal and organizational prevention.
Community Service
This module explores community involvement projects, proposal preparation, and effective project characteristics. It uses interactive classes, group discussions, experiential learning, and volunteerism to teach values, ethics, leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility.
Appreciation of Ethics and Civilization/Malay Communication Language II
This module aims to teach students about the ethics and civilization in Malaysia's diverse society, focusing on its historical evolution from pre-colonial to post-colonial times. It emphasizes the importance of understanding these concepts in a diverse society, fostering national unity and integrating them into academic activities. The module also highlights the role of globalization and information technology in shaping national unity.
Semester 1
Cost and Management Accounting
This module is designed to provide basic knowledge about management accounting. It will cover various topics including cost terms, concept, cost behaviour and cost analysis. Analysis includes variance analysis, BEP, product costing, product pricing, profit planning, budgeting, and performance evaluation.
Transaction Processing
This module covers advanced research in database management systems, addressing issues in transaction management, concurrency control, deadlocks, replicated data management, query processing, reliability, and database performance and recovery.
Business Statistics
This module covers basic statistics in business, practical applications, data collection, presentation, probability, normal distribution, hypothesis testing, one-sample tests, two-sample tests, variance analysis, categorical data tests, and simple regression.
Human Resource Management
The module focuses on the characteristics of Human Resource Management, the legal framework for the practice of Human Resource in Malaysia; job design and analysis; recruitment, selection, and placement; human resource development and career management; and diversity management.
Robo Advisor
This module considers the emergence of Robo Advisors in the marketplace and how they might evolve as an alternative to traditional investment alternatives. The main objective of this module is to understand the essence and strategies of systematic trading. The module also introduces Artificial Intelligence and its exploration in modern decision-making systems.
Semester 2
Philosophy and Current Issues
This module explores the connection between philosophy and the National Philosophy of Education and Rukun Negara, focusing on epistemology, metaphysics, and ethics. It emphasizes philosophy's role in promoting dialogue and fostering shared values, forming a comprehensive body of knowledge.
Production and Operation Management
This module covers management organization operations, efficient workplace design, method study, work measurement principles, planning, scheduling, and control systems for manufacturing and service-oriented businesses, with students completing group projects and reports.
Organisational Behaviour
This module offers students a comprehensive understanding of Organisational Behaviour theories, focusing on how individual and group behaviours influence organizational culture, design, ethics, learning, and structure, while facilitating experiential learning in conflict resolution, communication, decision making, leadership, and politics.
Financial Information System with Big Data
This module explores the use of financial information systems with Big Data for business operations, management decision-making, and strategic advantage. It focuses on students' understanding of how to utilize information as end-user managers, ensuring they can adapt to technological advancements.
Business Analytics
This module introduces the field of business analytics, which has been defined as the extensive use of predictive models, and fact-based management to drive decisions and actions. Text and web mining are discussed, and the application of selected data mining techniques to business decision making situations is illustrated.
Semester 3
New Venture Creation
This module outlines a structured programme for entrepreneurs to start and grow sustainable businesses in the mainstream economy, allowing learners to tender for public and private sector opportunities.
Corporate Social Responsibility
This module covers the introduction on the relationship between business and society, corporate social responsibility, business ethics and the relationship between Government and business. Issues of usage, ecology and the environment and community are also discussed.
Database Modelling and Design
This module introduces students to database design from two perspectives: Entity Relationship Modelling and normalization, and Object-Oriented Methodology. Techniques for mapping conceptual models to Relational Data models are presented, and their effectiveness in application design is compared.
Semester 1
Business Research Methods
This module discusses basic concept in research methods and covers topic in research methodology: explaining construct and building research framework, research design, measurement and scaling, sampling, data collections and writing research report. It also includes statistical procedures commonly used in research.
Digital Currencies and Blockchain Technologies
This module explores the integration of digital currencies and blockchain technologies in financial services, focusing on the core technology of Bitcoin and its applications in decentralized transactions, attracting interest from entrepreneurs and researchers.
Financial Information - Security and Privacy
This module examines topics related to efforts to maintain security over financial systems within the organization. Students get to examine recent financial system breaches, and consider common threats and vulnerabilities related to financial systems.
Consumer Behaviour
This module includes the economical, sociological, and psychological factors that influence consumer behavior and how these factors may be used to enhance the practice of marketing.
Final Year Project 1
This module includes the plans of the research which include collecting and analyzing the data. They are also required to complete the academic research project to be submitted at the end of the semester. The project is carried out under the supervision of the lecturer.
Semester 2
Strategic Management
This module focuses on strategic management for organizations to achieve competitiveness. It includes analyzing internal operations, evaluating external issues, formulating strategies, implementing, and controlling. It uses strategic planning tools like SWOT analysis, Kaplan strategy map, IFE matrix, BCG matrix, and blue ocean strategy.
Investment Analysis
The module acquaints the students with an overview of the investment background, the developments in the investment theory and the principles and practices of valuation. A detailed analysis and management of common stocks and bonds will be introduced and the basic principles and techniques of portfolio management will be discussed.
Enabling FinTech
This module explores the role of financial technology in the financial services industry, emphasizing the need for banks to innovate and create business value. It highlights the democratization of FinTech, revolutionizing wealth management and financial advisors' survival skills.
FinTech Risk Management
This module focuses on FinTech Risk Management, a technology that simplifies risk management for businesses and all participants in a financial ecosystem. It highlights the need for compliance functions to address cyber risks and assess new technology for regulatory risk management.
Final Year Project II
This module includes the plans of the research which include collecting and analyzing the data. They are also required to complete the academic research project to be submitted at the end of the semester. The project is carried out under the supervision of the lecturer.
Semester 3
Industrial Training
This module exposes students to the working environment of organisations outside the university, allowing them to apply lecture concepts and theories in computer science and cyber security.
