Doctor of Philosophy in Gerontechnology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is dedicated to advanced research at the intersection of gerontology and technology. This program aims to develop innovative technological solutions and environments, including assistive technologies and inclusive designs, to foster independent living and social engagement for older adults.
Research focuses on aligning technology with the built environment, addressing crucial aspects such as health, housing, mobility, communication, work, leisure, and recreation. The knowledge gained will inform and empower designers, builders, engineers, and health professionals, contributing to the creation of optimal living environments that prevent age-related decline, enhance older people's quality of life, and provide essential support to caregivers.
