Master of Science in Gerontechnology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is an interdisciplinary program that merges gerontology and technology to enhance the lives of older adults. This program focuses on researching and developing technological environments, including assistive technologies and inclusive designs, that promote independent living and social participation for older people while ensuring their health, comfort, and safety.
Students will explore how to match technology with the built environment in areas such as health, housing, mobility, communication, work, leisure, and recreation. Research outputs will serve as a foundation for designers, builders, engineers, and health professionals to create optimal living environments that prevent age-related functional decline, enhance the performance of older individuals, and support caregivers.
