Master of Science in Teaching of English as a Second Language By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on equipping students with a solid understanding of both theoretical and practical elements essential for teaching English as a second language.

 The program covers a range of topics, including linguistics, TESL methodology, grammar, oral communication, literacy, testing and evaluation, and professional development in the ESL context. 

This blend of theory and practice prepares graduates to excel in teaching English and to contribute to the improvement of ESL educational practices.

Entry Requirements 

• A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75, as accepted by the HEP’s Senate
