Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Mechanisation and Automation By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on advanced research in agricultural mechanisation systems and models relevant to the agriculture and plantation sectors. The program emphasizes the design and application of automation technologies, including computers, controllers, sensors, remote sensing, GIS, GPS, and mechatronics.
Key research areas encompass the advanced design and development of machinery such as bioproduction robots, harvesters, planters, and chemical sprayers, as well as the impact of automated systems in bioproduction and greenhouse operations. Students will also investigate machine vision systems, autonomous devices, control algorithms, soil mapping, and smart farming technologies.
Through rigorous research, graduates will develop the expertise necessary to address contemporary challenges in agricultural mechanisation and automation, contributing transformative solutions to the industry.
