Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Waste Engineering By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is designed to cultivate advanced research skills through the application of scientific knowledge and engineering technology in the efficient management of agricultural waste.
The program focuses on minimizing the environmental, groundwater, and public health impacts of agricultural wastes while exploring innovative applications for these materials, such as by-products, new raw materials, or bio-sources for energy production. Its primary aim is to achieve integrated local recycling and reuse of agricultural waste for purposes like environmental protection, energy development, fertilizer production, and water conservation.
Additionally, the research area encompasses wastewater treatment and disposal, water pollution control, water recycling technologies, water quality assessment, air quality management, and solid waste management. Graduates will be equipped to contribute significantly to enhancing sustainability and developing environmentally friendly technologies and systems in agriculture.
