Doctor of Philosophy in Agronomy By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on advancing crop husbandry practices to enhance soil utilization and boost the productivity of food and fiber crops. The program encompasses a wide range of topics, including plant structure and taxonomy, genetics and plant breeding, plant physiology, cropping systems, weed science, and seed technology.
Students engage in research areas such as cell structure and biology, genomics, physiology, weed control, and the breeding of economically significant crops. The program is supported by a strong academic curriculum, experienced faculty, and access to state-of-the-art laboratories and field facilities.
Through rigorous research, students will develop the expertise necessary to tackle contemporary challenges in agronomy and contribute to sustainable agricultural practices.
