Doctor of Philosophy in Applied and Computational Statistics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is designed to advance the development of techniques and models that address complex applied problems in various fields, including Economics, Environment, Agriculture, Biology, Medicine, and Engineering. The program encompasses critical sub-fields such as Statistical Modelling and Forecasting, Computational Statistics and Inference, and Reliability Analysis.
PhD candidates will delve into topics such as time series analysis, spatial modeling, extreme value theory, regression techniques, and robust statistics. They will also investigate Bayesian statistics, Monte Carlo Markov Chain methods, and various dimensions of reliability analysis, including survival analysis and biostatistics. This rigorous program equips graduates with the expertise to utilize advanced statistical methodologies to tackle real-world challenges effectively.
