Doctor of Philosophy in Automotive Engineering By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on advanced research in the development and design of automotive technologies, systems, and components.
The program encompasses a variety of areas, including fuel storage systems, such as fiber composite tanks and carbon-based absorption technologies, along with flexible tank designs. Students will explore automotive control systems with an emphasis on the design, development, and fabrication of electronic-based engine control units, diagnostic kits, and combustion control parameters.
Additionally, the curriculum includes structural design and vehicle integration, focusing on body structure design, crash analysis, stress and fatigue evaluations, ergonomic considerations, and composite materials. Research in combustion and pollution management aims to enhance pollution control systems and develop energy-efficient fuel combustion technologies. Graduates will be equipped to tackle contemporary challenges in the automotive engineering sector and contribute innovative solutions to the industry.
