Doctor of Philosophy in Biocomposite Technology and Design By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) offers an advanced exploration of bio fiber research, bio composite manufacturing, and design for applications in building components and furniture. PhD candidates will conduct in-depth research focusing on the characterization and quality enhancement of bio fibers.

The program emphasizes the optimization of processing variables, innovative formulations of resin binders, and comprehensive product evaluations. Candidates will also develop 3D and 4D models through CAD/CAID methodologies and investigate the integration of bio composite materials in Industrialized Building Systems (IBS) and furniture design. Moreover, the curriculum incorporates Product Life Cycle (PLC) cost analysis, equipping graduates to address both technical and economic aspects of bio composite technology.
