The Doctor of Philosophy in Cell Biotechnology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) delves into the advancements and applications of animal cell biotechnology, a critical area in life sciences influenced by genetic engineering, cloning, recombinant DNA, and gene transfer.
This program emphasizes research in various applications, including the development of pharmaceuticals, cell-based assays, and specialized animal models for disease studies. Key research focuses on stem cell research for regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, gene expression in animal cells, recombinant protein production, viral vaccines, and drug discovery.
