Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on utilizing technologies to enhance the environment for the benefit of humanity. This program provides a comprehensive foundation in environmental engineering and management, equipping students with the skills necessary to develop solutions for intricate environmental challenges that blend technical, regulatory, social, and management aspects.

Key areas of research include the analysis and design of water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater and solid waste management, treatment and recovery, quality control, and pollution control and treatment. Emphasizing concepts such as "waste to wealth" and "zero waste," the program encourages innovative strategies for achieving environmental sustainability. Through advanced research, students will be well-prepared to tackle critical environmental issues and contribute meaningfully to the field.
