Doctor of Philosophy in Food Science By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is designed for advanced exploration in various subfields, including food chemistry, biochemistry, functional foods, food microbiology, and food enzymes. This program provides students with the flexibility to select specialized courses that align with their research interests.
Candidates will undertake rigorous research projects focusing on areas such as food enzymology, the physico-chemical and functional properties of food components, flavor encapsulation, and the microbiological aspects of food. With a strong foundation in molecular interactions and the composition of food systems, graduates will be well-prepared to investigate and elucidate the nutritional and quality transformations in foods, contributing to advancements in food science.
