Doctor of Philosophy in Halal Products Development By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is dedicated to in-depth research and innovation in the halal compliance of products and processes for various industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. This program encompasses advanced study in developing halal products like protein-based hydrolysates, halal enzymes, and meat alternatives, as well as halal lipid-based materials such as emulsifiers and specialty fats.
Students will investigate alternatives to conventional processing aids, focusing on halal solutions that replace non-halal gelatins and other non-compliant substances. The program also aims to develop a range of products, including halal food ingredients, confectioneries, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and personal care items, positioning graduates as leaders in the growing field of halal product development and commercialization.
