Doctor of Philosophy in Halal Products Science By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is dedicated to advanced research and innovation focused on authentication and detection techniques for non-halal constituents, contaminants, and toxicants in food and non-food products, including healthcare products.
This program involves the development of sophisticated detection methods that utilize techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, molecular biology, nanotechnology, proteomics, and metabolomics. It also emphasizes the toyyiban (quality assurance) aspect, which encompasses safety, wholesomeness, efficacy, and the health impacts of halal products on consumers.
Furthermore, the program explores agricultural production issues, focusing on effective slaughter management and supply chain logistics, positioning graduates to become leaders in ensuring the integrity and safety of halal products.
