Doctor of Philosophy in Hospitality By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on providing an advanced academic understanding of contemporary practices within the hospitality industry. The program offers a robust platform for research in various areas, including hospitality management and marketing, service operations, and the economics of hospitality firms. Students will investigate the supply and value chains in the accommodation sector, encompassing hotels, resorts, and homestays, as well as the food service industry, including restaurants and catering businesses.

Research topics also emphasize operational challenges within hospitality organizations, strategic management, service quality, customer experience, entrepreneurship, and economic evaluation. 

Students will benefit from attending specialized research classes and conducting research activities under the guidance of experienced professionals in the field, preparing them for impactful contributions to the hospitality industry.

Entry Requirements 

• A Master's Degree by research in a field related to the field of PhD applied for.
