Doctor of Philosophy in Human Genetics By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) provides an advanced exploration of the complexities of human heredity through scientific study and research. This program emphasizes the critical role of genetics in modern medicine, particularly in the areas of disease prediction, diagnosis, and treatment.

PhD candidates will focus their research on the nature and behavior of specific genes associated with genetic and hereditary diseases. By employing the latest methodologies in cell research, biochemistry, molecular biology, and gene technology, students will investigate inheritance mechanisms, the factors contributing to genetic diseases, and the differences among individuals, including mutation screening and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).
