Doctor of Philosophy in Immunobiology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) provides an advanced exploration of the immune system and its functions in protecting the body from foreign intrusions. This program emphasizes in-depth research on the basic immunological principles, including the structure, development, and functionality of immune cells and organs.
PhD candidates will engage in rigorous study to apply immunological concepts in various contexts, such as diagnostic testing via antigen-antibody reactions, assessing immune function through cellular and humoral assays, and implementing immunization programs for disease prevention. The program critically examines how immune system defects contribute to diseases like infections, allergies, autoimmune disorders, and graft-versus-host conditions. This comprehensive training prepares graduates to make substantial contributions to improving health management practices in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of immunological disorders.
