Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Biotechnology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) focuses on the application of biotechnology for industrial purposes, encompassing manufacturing, alternative energy, and biomaterials.

This program emphasizes the commercialization of biotechnology products and industrial bioprocesses, utilizing enzymes and biological cells. Students will explore the role of industrial biotechnology in enhancing the efficiency of renewable resource conversion and optimizing conventional raw materials. Research areas include the production of bio-products such as pharmaceuticals, bio-plastics, vitamins, and liquid biofuels. Graduates will be equipped to make significant contributions to advancements in this dynamic field.
