Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Parasitology By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) provides an advanced study of parasitology, combining disciplines such as medical protozoology, medical helminthology, medical entomology, immunoparasitology, and the biotechnology of malaria, as well as newly emerging parasites. This program explores the complexities of parasitic organisms and their vectors, focusing on aspects like pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods, epidemiological trends, treatment options, and infection control measures.

PhD candidates will conduct rigorous research that contributes to the understanding of parasitic diseases and their impact on public health. They will also undertake a laboratory or field research project, allowing them to refine their research capabilities and apply essential skills for future careers as leaders in medical parasitology. Graduates will be equipped to tackle significant health issues related to parasitic infections with innovative solutions and effective management strategies.
