Doctor of Philosophy in Medicinal Chemistry By Research Mode at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) offers an advanced study of methodologies aimed at transforming traditional and herbal medicines into scientifically validated therapeutic agents. This program emphasizes the interplay between molecular structure and biological activity, addressing topics such as organic synthesis, drug design, QSAR, and drug metabolism.

PhD candidates will engage in research focusing on the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of novel compounds, as well as the enhancement of structure-activity relationships (SAR). Additionally, they will explore computational studies and cutting-edge computational chemistry methods to identify and optimize bioactive molecules, enriching the understanding of their target interactions and potential therapeutic applications.
